Position Summary:

The University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC) is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team in a busy, dynamic Emergency Department. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Medicine Physician to provide high-quality medical care to patients in our Emergency Department. The EM Physician will assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a wide range of medical conditions, ensuring timely and accurate care. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes in a high-paced, supportive academic setting.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients, including acute diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Quickly assess patients to prioritize care based on acuity, ensuring effective triage and appropriate intervention.
  • Collaborate with nurses, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and radiographic findings, and initiate appropriate treatment.
  • Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in continuing medical education and professional development to stay updated with advances in emergency medicine.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives within the department to enhance patient care standards and outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
  • Valid Ohio medical license or ability to obtain licensure prior to start date.
  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage a diverse range of emergency cases effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in academic or teaching settings is preferred, but not required.
