University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a critical care cardiologist to join the Cardiovascular Division in furthering our mission to be a leader in innovation and transformational initiatives.
We are seeking dual trained cardiac intensivists to join our section of Critical Care Cardiology to provide comprehensive critical care for non-surgical medical multi-morbid patients with cardiovascular disease. Our program cares for a large population of out-of-hospital and in-hospital cardiac arrest and cardiogenic shock patients from across the upper Midwest requiring multi-modality temporary mechanical support including ECMO. Patients with high risk or massive pulmonary embolism and adults with congenital heart disease are additional focuses in addition to collaborative co-management of patients with the cardiac surgery and advanced heart failure teams.

Practice Highlights:
- Multidisciplinary team of 30+ Cardiologist and 4 dual trained Critical Care Cardiologist
- Inpatient volume has daily census of 10-15 patients; CICU is the primary team for all of our patients
- Opportunity for service weeks in the CTICU (postoperative cardiothoracic patients) if desired
- All critical care services exclusively performed at the University of Minnesota Medical Center campus
- Option to join our outpatient post cardiac arrest clinic
- Off service time commitment has flexible options depending on clinical interests
- Faculty play an active role in teaching and mentoring medical trainees of all levels
- Protected time for research and education
Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited ACGME/AOA cardiology and critical care fellowship training programs.
- Board certified or board eligible with the ABIM in cardiology and critical care
- Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
- Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA.
