Powell Valley Healthcare (PVHC) is in beautiful Northwestern Wyoming, located 70 miles from Yellowstone National Park and surrounded by mountains, wildlife, and outdoor recreation. We are a 25 bed Critical Access and Community Trauma Hospital, seeking a full-time Emergency Medical Provider to join our team.
As a CMS 5-Star Patient Experience hospital, we provide patient-centered care to Powell and the surrounding Big Horn Basin Community. In maintaining that high quality of care, the selected candidate will provide emergency medical care in a rural setting, and diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions. Additional information related to position:
Paid Time Off of 196 hours, CME allowance, retirement benefits with employer match and health benefit package.
Support staff in the Emergency Department include Patient Registration, RNs, EMTs, Paramedics, PA for Fast Track, and hospital operated Ambulance Services.
Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment: Quickly and accurately evaluating patients' conditions and determining the necessary course of action.
Emergency Treatment: Administering treatments for a wide range of medical conditions, including trauma, cardiac issues, and acute illnesses.
Stabilization: Stabilizing patients with life-threatening conditions and preparing them for transfer if necessary.
Diagnostic Testing: Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as X-rays, CT scans, and blood tests to aid in diagnosis.
Collaboration: Working with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, specialists, surgeons and support staff, to provide comprehensive patient care.
Communication: Clearly and effectively communicating with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed and accurate medical records for all patients.
Education and Training: Staying current with medical advancements and participating in ongoing education and training programs.
Requirements:
Licensing: State medical license and board certification in Emergency Medicine.
Skills: Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Experience: Experience in providing emergency medical care.
