St. Christopher's Hospital for Children is seeking a Chief for the Department of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
Highlights:
- The Department of Emergency Medicine is a 34-bed unit with approximately 50,000 visits annually.
- The position of Chief will manage a high functioning team that accounts for over 70% of admissions and is the lifeblood of the hospital.
- There is a well-established PEM fellowship with 3 fellows per year (the fellowship had a 100% fill rate again this year) with an outstanding Program Director and many engaged core faculty.
- As a safety-net hospital, ideal candidates for St. Christopher’s will have an interest and passion for serving our high-needs community and a willingness to partner with us as we eliminate healthcare bias and inequalities.
- Candidates will bring at least 5 years of leadership experience.

St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, a partnership between Tower Health and Drexel University, is a 188-bed facility that provides exceptional care to children throughout the Greater Philadelphia area and surrounding counties. With more than 220 pediatric experts on staff, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children combines topnotch pediatric care with a wide array of pediatric specialties, including Cardiology; Ear, Nose and Throat; Gastroenterology; Oncology; and Orthopedics. It houses the only Pediatric Burn Center between New York City and Baltimore and is one of only three Level I Pediatric Trauma Centers in Pennsylvania. Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Medicine (M.D. or D.O.) and PA license or ability to obtain.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience with demonstrated leadership accomplishments
- An interpersonal skill set that focuses on team-building
