The Department of Medicine, Program in Trauma at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, University of Maryland Medical Center is recruiting for a full-time critical care intensivist physician to work in a high acuity and high volume cardiac surgical intensive care unit caring for a heterogenous population including those requiring advanced mechanical and extracorporeal support.
Candidates must be residency trained in Medicine, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, OB-GYN or Anesthesiology and board certified or its equivalent in critical care. Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland. This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, the ability to work well in a team setting and a desire for continued academic growth. Expertise or interest in clinical and/or basic research and participation in multidisciplinary research is highly desirable.
Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level with non-tenure status and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
