Trauma Surgery Opportunity with Teaching, 1 hour from NYC
The Department of Surgery at Stamford Hospital seeks an experienced BC/BE general surgeon with fellowship training in surgical critical care to join our Trauma Division. Join a collegial team of 5 surgeons seeking an additional provider due to increased demand for services. This position is 50% Trauma Surgery and 50% General Surgery and includes teaching surgery residents and medical students.
As a Level II trauma center, Stamford Hospital currently has over 800 trauma admissions. The Hospital is a physician-led community academic medical center with comprehensive surgical services in all surgical subspecialties. The Department of Surgery has a free-standing surgical residency program and is affiliated with Columbia University School of Medicine. Responsibilities include trauma care, surgical critical care, general surgery, acute care surgery and teaching surgery residents and students.
Stamford Hospital is a physician-led independent not-for-profit provider of comprehensive healthcare services in lower Fairfield County, and consists of a 305-bed inpatient facility, two (2) ambulatory medical complexes, a Level II trauma center, physician practices, a health center and imaging sites throughout the region. Stamford Hospital has the only open-heart surgery program between New York City and Bridgeport, CT, and the only Cyberknife Center in the New York/CT metro area. We are a Magnet Hospital and a member of the Planetree Alliance, a group of hospitals nationwide focused on patient-centered approach, encouraging healing in all dimensions mind, body, and spirit. Stamford Hospital is a major teaching affiliate of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons with residency programs in surgery, internal medicine, family medicine and OB/GYN.
