Academic Faculty Position: Ultrasound Section Chief

The University of Utah Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) is seeking a highly qualified candidate to join the faculty as our Ultrasound Section Chief, Rank and Track DOQ.
 

Position Highlights –
- The Ultrasound Section Chief, in partnership with the Emergency Medicine Department Chair and Department of Emergency Medicine executive leadership, will provide the overall vision, leadership, coordination, and execution of the clinical, educational, and research missions for the Ultrasound Section through the oversight of US section faculty to include:

- Coordinate and oversight of DEM POCUS education for ED faculty, US fellowship, EM residency and medical students


 - Oversight over interdepartmental POCUS initiatives

 - Oversight of POCUS billing and QI initiatives

 - Oversight for TEE program including ECMO team support

 - Oversight and growth of POCUS related research endeavors

 - Mentorship of DEM US section faculty


- Section chiefs are expected be exemplary members of the leadership team, which includes conducting themselves with upmost professionalism while working clinically, while engaging in leadership activities, and when engaged with other leaders throughout the institution.


- Section chiefs are expected to engage with the executive leadership in active problem solving, adhering to the highest standards set forth for faculty expectations, and are expected to foster a safe and inclusive culture that celebrates and embraces the uniqueness of all the people in our Department and Institution regardless of role or background.


- This position comes with a full academic appointment (Rank and Track Dependent on Qualifications) and allows for faculty to participate in a combination of clinical care, scholarship, and teaching of EM fellows, residents, and medical students.
