On behalf of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Indiana University Health and Riley Children’s Health, CareerPhysician, the national leader in academic child health executive search and leadership development, invites applications for the position of Chief and Vice-Chair, Pediatric Emergency Medicine. We seek a visionary leader dedicated to improving children's health. The division, part of the Department of Emergency Medicine, is supported by a comprehensive system-wide commitment to building a nationally pre-eminent program. Candidate Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a commitment to clinical innovation, teaching, and research and a vision to improve the health and well-being of children. Candidates must possess an MD or MD/PhD or equivalent degree, be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or both EM and Pediatrics, and eligible for an unrestricted medical license in Indiana. Academic credentials should support an appointment at the associate or full professor level.

- Oversee the fellowship and combined residency training programs.

- Establish, guide, grow, and sustain PEM research program
- Recruit faculty for leadership and academic positions.
- Hold dual employment with IU Health Physicians and IU School of Medicine.

About Riley Children’s: Riley Hospital for Children has been a leading institution in pediatric care for over 100 years, providing compassionate care to more than 300,000 patients annually. About Department of Emergency Medicine: The Department of Emergency Medicine has served patients and communities for over 50 years. The department staffs seven emergency departments throughout central Indiana, including three Level 1 trauma centers, which are the primary teaching institutions for the department. The department is home to an emergency medicine residency, a combined emergency medicine/pediatrics residency, and several clinical fellowships. Currently, the department has nine fellowships with 20 fellows. Combined, the emergency medicine categorical and emergency medicine/pediatric residency programs have 73 residents. The PEM fellowship is comprised of three fellows per year. Statewide, the department consists of 183 full-time faculty, 53 part-time faculty and 285 volunteer faculty. Additionally, 62 advanced practice providers also are valued members of the emergency medicine team.
