Job Summary: The Emergency Medicine Physician is responsible for providing
immediate medical care to patients who have acute injuries or illnesses that require
urgent attention. They must be able to quickly assess the patient's condition, provide
emergency treatment, and determine whether the patient requires hospitalization or
referral to another specialist. The Emergency Medicine Physician must be able to work
in a fast-paced and high-stress environment, and must be able to make quick decisions
to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Quickly assess and stabilize patients who require emergency medical attention,
including those who have suffered traumatic injuries, heart attacks, strokes, or
other life-threatening conditions.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, laboratory tests, and
electrocardiograms.
Prescribe medications and other treatments, and monitor the effectiveness of
treatment plans.
Provide immediate medical interventions, such as administering oxygen,
performing CPR, or using a defibrillator.
Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, such as specialists, nurses,
and social workers.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure that emergency care is
delivered in an efficient and effective manner.
Qualifications:
Medical degree from an accredited institution
Completed residency in emergency medicine
Board certification in emergency medicine
Valid state medical license
Strong diagnostic and treatment skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to make quick decisions and prioritize patient care
Strong organizational and time management skills
Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
Not Full time but contracted travel position. These are Locum Tenens 1099 Position
