Outstanding communication skills, a high emotional intelligence, adaptability, and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment are essential.This intensivist provides care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Units and supervises housestaff in the ICUs. This intensivist evaluates patients who may require ICU care when called by the Emergency Department or other inpatient units, including consultations for emergencies in other critical care units - Surgical, Cardiac, Neurologic, ICUs. This intensivist leads emergency responses and supervises medical housestaff in Medical Code, Rapid Response, and Sepsis Code Teams.
