Spectrum Health Medical Group are seeking a Cardiothoracic Critical Care Physician to join the Heart & Vascular Institute. The ideal candidate skillset would encompass the perioperative care of adult cardiac surgical patients with some exposure to heart and lung transplantation and mechanical support (welcome but not essential). We will train anyone who is interested if they have not had experience in these areas and have critical care experience. This is a great opportunity to work at the state-of-the-art Meijer Heart Center.

We will consider those with a background in internal medicine, pulmonology, CT surgery, and anesthesia with cardiothoracic critical care experience.

  • A 24/7/365 cardiogenic shock service which implements state of the art mechanical circulatory support for cardiac arrest and cardiogenic shock patients.
  • A 10-bed cardiovascular recovery unit in addition to a 22-bed cardiothoracic critical care unit support this activity
  • Established ACGME rotations through the CTCC from vascular and general surgery

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BC/BE Cardiothoracic Critical Care Intensivist or Pulmonologist, CT Surgery, CT Anesthesia, General Anesthesia with critical care experience, Advanced heart failure cardiologist with experience of CTCC.
  • Experience/board certification in TTE and/or TEE (not mandatory)
  • Experience of VAD/transplant/ECMO (VA & VV) management or clinical fellowship in this clinical area (not mandatory)

Required Bachelor's Degree
  • LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
  • LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
