Summary:
Goldbelt Glacier is seeking a qualified Physician to collaborate with hospitals, healthcare coalitions, biotech firms, community members, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, and other partners across the country to improve readiness and response capabilities. The Physician will work with patients to diagnose and treat a wide variety of common health problems, illnesses, disorders, and injuries.

This position includes 100% travel to all 50 states and US territories.

Essential Job Functions:


    This position is 100% travel and is not based in one particular location.
    As an intensive care pediatrician physician, you will provide comprehensive critical care services for inpatients ages 0-17.
    In-house ICU coverage on a shift schedule will be required.
    Serve as the primary physician for pediatric patients admitted to the intensive care unit or a consultant for other intensive care services.
    Diagnose, treat, and manage patients according to standard, usual, and acceptable methods, and techniques.
    At minimum, the critical care physician requires competency in the following:

      Patient evaluation, establishment of medical diagnoses based on history, physical examination, and other criteria, and formulation of appropriate treatment plans.
      ICU procedures including, but not limited to:
      Intubation and advanced airway management
      Invasive and non-invasive ventilator management
      Central and arterial line placement
      Hemodialysis catheter placement
      Bronchoscopy
      Bedside ultrasound
      Right heart catheterizations
      Chest tubes

      Coordination of the clinical care of the critically ill patients and collaboration with the other services on the care of their patients.
      Establishment of communication among primary care physicians, hospitalists, specialists, patients, and their families
      Provision of inpatient critical care consultations throughout the hospital as needed and supervision of trainees in internal medicine, critical care, and pulmonary including supervising ICU procedures
      Appropriate and complete documentation of all patient encounters and procedures using the computerized patient record
      Performance of rounds on all assigned inpatients with appropriate documentation
      Primary responsibility of care of all critically ill patients admitted to the ICU service with the help of the residents, fellows, and other Critical Care staff

      Necessary Skills and Knowledge:


        Organization, written communication, and oral communication skills
        Practice aseptic techniques as necessary; comply with infection control guidelines to include the proper handling, storage, and disposal of infectious wastes, and the use of universal precautions to prevent the spread of infection.
        Function with an awareness and application of safety procedures.
        Apply an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strive to manage situations in a reduced risk manner.
        Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others' rights, as identified within the MTF.
        Exercise appropriate delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care, and clinic activities.
        Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
        Analytical thinker and complex problem-solver

        Minimum Qualifications:


          Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy
          Board Certification or Eligibility by their specialty American or Osteopathic Board
          A current, valid unrestricted medical license in one of the U.S. states, territories, or commonwealths
          Active hospital credentials and privileges
          Certifications: Applicable certification according to requirements for specialties, i.e., Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS), etc.
          Actively practicing in specialty with minimum experience of three (3) years in their respective specialty post-board certification.

          Preferred Qualifications:


            Board certification in a primary care specialty, such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Preventive Medicine, or Emergency medicine
            Board certification in Psychiatry
