Emergency Medicine physician directs and provides licensed medical care in the specialty area of emergency medicine. Responsibilities include diagnosis and treatment of patients, education and collaboration with staff, medical students, residents and others, and clinical research. The Emergency Medicine physician manages complex and unpredictable emergent situations. The Emergency Medicine physician must be competent in technical clinical skills, as well as cognitive and interpersonal skills required to serve those patients receiving the above mentioned services. The Emergency Medicine physician is expected to practice within the established Medical Center and physicians standards of practice (policies, procedure, and protocols) and adhere to key results areas of the Medical Center.
