You will join three experienced peers and five advanced practitioners, and enjoy an interesting mixed practice providing inpatient and outpatient pulmonary and critical care services to adults. On inpatient days, you’ll manage patients in an 11-bed ICU with 4 step-down beds - all overseen by the APPs, 24/7. You will participate in nighttime backup by phone, shared 1:4. Procedures include central lines, and occasional arterial lines and thoracentesis/ paracentesis, with an Interventional Radiologist generally available.

On your outpatient days, you will see both pulmonary and critical care patients - an average of 8-10 per day - in a modern, comfortable medical office suite on site at the hospital, equipped with cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, a fully integrated EMR system, and an excellent support staff. The hospital has an on-site Endoscopy Center with 4 procedures rooms and 12 admission and recovery bays.

Northampton is a vibrant midsized city in the Five Colleges region of scenic western Massachusetts - an attractive area of respected universities, historic towns, antique shops, winding rivers, and fresh air. Nestled in the foothills of the Berkshires, in the heart of the Pioneer Valley, this fertile region is marked by lush farms, wineries and beautiful valleys, forests and rolling hills, and friendly residents of varying backgrounds. Culturally diverse Northampton is named a “best destination” for restaurants, theater, galleries and overall quality of life! A prime retirement community, you will meet interesting people of every generation here. The area boasts excellent schools, making it a safe and wonderful place to raise children.
