Section Head of Colorectal Surgery
• Position: Section Head, Colorectal Surgery, Division of GI/General Surgery
• Medical Group: Evanston, Glenbrook, Highland Park, and Swedish Hospitals
What you will need:
• Medical License: Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia and be proficient in spoken and written English
• Certification: American Board of Surgery(ABS) & American Board of Colorectal Surgery (ABCRS)
• Experience: 5+ years of practice in leadership skills with a focus on program development and growing and grooming a unified team
NorthShore University HealthSystem, a major teaching hospital of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, is seeking a distinguished board-certified Colorectal Surgeon to serve as Section Head of Colorectal Surgery in the Department of Surgery. The successful candidate for this position will be considered for appointment at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor, commensurate with experience, training, and achievement in the field.
Prospective candidates should have completed training in general surgery and a fellowship in Colorectal Surgery, with a demonstrated track record of clinical excellence and scholarly activities with achievements in basic or clinical research. The candidate must be experienced in administration and possess exceptional teamwork, program development, teaching, and mentorship abilities. Individuals with a demonstrated ability to develop research programs will be strongly considered.
The candidate will join a team of 21 physicians in the multispecialty Division of General Surgery, specifically with three (3) surgeons dedicated to colorectal surgery. There will be several recruitment opportunities for the next Section Head. The colorectal faculty currently oversee residency and fellowship programs through the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
