AVERA MCKENNAN EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
We are seeking board certified or board prepared physicians who are residency trained in Emergency Medicine to join our group of 24 Emergency Medicine physicians. The ER is staffed with EM physicians working 10-hour shifts with 40 hours of physician coverage per day. Avera in Sioux Falls has four EM sites for the physicians to work from. All within 15 minutes from each other. The physicians work 130 hours (13 shifts) per month and receive incentive pay for additional shifts.
Our Level II Trauma Center has 30,000 visits annually with an admission rate of 30%. Our Careflight helicopter and fixed wing aircraft transport patients from a service area of 800,000 people. We are proud of our 20-minute door-to-doctor time and our 2-hour length of stay. Our patient satisfaction rate consistently exceeds 90%.
The physicians are employed and are also eligible for a group incentive for positive operating results. Benefits include malpractice insurance, medical, dental, life and disability insurance, CME allowance, professional allowance and a generous retirement plan.
