Saint Mary's Hospital - a member of Trinity Health Of New England, the region's largest nonprofit health system - is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician to join its team located in Waterbury, Connecticut.
We are a strong team of four full-time and one per diem Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) physicians. There are 19 hours of available PEM coverage/day during weekdays with 10 hours/day on weekends. (12 shifts/month; one weekend/month). No overnights!
The Emergency Department at Saint Mary's Hospital includes Pediatric Services which provides medical care to nearly 15,000 children annually. Saint Mary's acts as a community training site for PEM Fellows from both Yale-New Haven Hospital and Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC). 3rd/4th year medical students from Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University have clinical rotations in pediatrics at Saint Mary's and Academic appointments are available.
Saint Mary's Emergency Department is designated as a Level II Trauma Center. Connecticut Children's - Waterbury is located within Saint Mary's Hospital and is part of Connecticut Children's in Hartford. The Unit has a total of 10 Pediatric beds. There is also a 20-bed Well Baby Nursery and nine Level II NICU beds.
