We are seeking a board certified or board prepared physician residency trained in Emergency Medicine to join our group of 24 Emergency Medicine Physicians and 4 Advanced Practice Providers. The ER is staffed with EM physicians working 10-hour shifts with 40 hours of physician coverage per day. The physicians work 130 hours (13 shifts) per month and receive incentive pay for additional shifts. Our Level II Trauma Center has 30,000 visits annually with an admission rate of 30%. Our Careflight helicopter and fixed wing aircraft transport patients from a service area of 800,000 people. We are proud of our 20-minute door-to-doctor time and our 2-hour length of stay. Our patient satisfaction rate consistently exceeds 90%. The physicians are employed and are also eligible for a group incentive for positive operating results. Benefits include malpractice insurance, medical, dental, life and disability insurance, CME allowance, professional allowance and a generous retirement plan. Our EM physcians rotate through 4 different locations in Sioux Falls, giving them a variety of practice settings.
Avera McKennan is a 545-bed, non-profit, Catholic facility and the regional referral center for the Avera Health System and surrounding five-state area. The referral area includes South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and North Dakota. With over 600 physicians on staff in all specialties and 6,000 employees, the hospital offers a full range of services including the region's only kidney, pancreas, and bone marrow transplant program.
