General Definition and Scope of Job
Take patient histories, perform physical exam, diagnosis and treat acute illness with in their scope of practice. Follow accepted practice guidelines and standards of care. Work with other health care professionals in a collaborative manner. Identifies, monitors and reports quality of care issues appropriately. Administer and prescribe medication as needed. Consult and refer when appropriate. Able to verbalize the plan of care with patients and family team members. Perform patient education and counseling. Order labs, x-ray or other tests as needed. Able to analyze data and establish an appropriate plan of action. Ability to identify problems and develop/carry out action plan with follow-up care as indicated.

Job Status:
- Full Time, 72 hours per pay period
- Casual, as needed
What are the Minimum Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements?
- MD or DO with Michigan license
- Recent relevant clinical experience; knowledge of community resources required; utilization review, discharge planning, or case management experience preferred.
- Must be able to manage several job tasks simultaneously and be able to function effectively under high stress situations.
- Ability to read and interpret data from equipment and computer, including data entry.
- Ability to communicate in easily understood, grammatically correct English.
- Able to control confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Capable of working independently and making judgments on the basis of collected data.
- Capable of developing effective working relationships with UCC staff, management staff and physicians.
- Knowledge of billing and ICD-10-CPT4 coding is preferred.
- Ability to be mobile to carry out responsibilities throughout the UCC
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Current PALS
- Current Controlled Substance/DEA

- Must be able to sit or stand for record review/documentation and patient interview 70% of the day as required.
- Must be able to type/keyboard up to 30% of the day as required.
- Must be able to open file cabinet drawers using push/pull force.
- Must be able to carry records/files with a 15 - 20 pound weight limit.
