Emergency Medicine Physician -- Independent, stable, democratic group

Flagstaff Emergency Physicians is an independent, democratic group of 30 physicians that staffs the Flagstaff Medical Center Emergency Department in Flagstaff and the Verde Valley Emergency Department in Cottonwood. Founded in the 1970's, we are the only group to have ever staffed the Emergency Department in Flagstaff.

As a democratic group, we decided that we need to add a shift and so we are hiring 1 full time physician to join our group on partnership track. Because we strive to maintain a work-life balance and avoid future burnout, our new physicians define how many shifts they are comfortable working monthly.     

• Emergency Medicine residency trained candidates only.
• Board Eligible and Board Certified candidates 
• Graduating residents and attendings are welcome to apply.
• Unrestricted license and DEA

Flagstaff Medical Center

• Level 1 Trauma Center and regional referral center
• Full specialty coverage with hand, ortho, plastics, trauma surgery, neurosurgery, cardiology/cath lab/EP, CT surgery, OB/Gyn, nephrology, urology, GI, ophthalmology, and vascular surgery.   
• 44K ED visits annually
• 64-72 hours of physician coverage daily
• No ED NP's or PA's
• Located in Flagstaff, Arizona.  Flagstaff is a college town at 7000’ elevation.  Summer temperatures are in the 70’s-80’s.  It snows in the winter and we have a local ski area.  We are the closest facility to the Grand Canyon and see many travelers from all over the world.  Great local schools including a trilingual elementary school, two college prep high schools and an arts & leadership high school.   

Verde Valley Medical Center

• Community Emergency Department
• Specialty coverage includes ortho, general surgery, cardiology/cath lab, OB/Gyn, nephrology, urology, ophthalmology and vascular surgery.
• 22K visits annually
• 40 hours of physician coverage daily
• No ED NP's or PA's
• Located in Cottonwood, Arizona.  Cottonwood is a small community at 3,300’ elevation situated between Flagstaff and Phoenix, just south of Sedona. Great access to hiking and biking on days off.
