Emergency Medicine Physician

Since 1972, Emergency Physicians of Tidewater has delivered exceptional emergency care to Emergency Departments throughout Southeastern Virginia. Our physicians are able to practice in a variety of settings from an academic Level 1, Quaternary Referral Center to a community-based practice. EPT leads the longest running Emergency Medicine Residency program in Virginia as well as multiple fellowships. EPT members enjoy coastal living in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, as well as plenty of American history, quaint towns, and mountains within a short drive.

EPT staffs seven unique and distinct hospital emergency departments.  From Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (SNGH), a Level 1 Trauma, tertiary care referral center with an annual ED census of approximately 60,000 to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital (SVBGH), a busy community hospital minutes from the Atlantic Ocean to Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Virginia, all of our facilities are healthy and state of the art.

The Hampton Roads area provides a metro area rich in history, culture and opportunities for extracurricular activities.  We are minutes away from the beautiful beaches of Virginia Beach and the Chesapeake Bay, and an hour away from Colonial Williamsburg.  Fine dining, cultural and popular events at diverse venues and the water are all around us.   For sports fans, we have the Tidewater Tides (triple A for the Baltimore Orioles) baseball team and the Norfolk Admirals Hockey (farm team for the Tampa Bay Lightning); both play in downtown Norfolk.  We also have Old Dominion University (ODU) and several other colleges locally to enjoy college basketball and football, in addition to concerts, lectures and other cultural events.
