The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, under the Department of Emergency Medicine at Albany Medical College, is actively recruiting pediatric emergency medicine physicians. Our state-of-the-art department, built in 2018, is comprised of 17 acute care beds, including 3 resuscitation suites and additional space for a minor care unit.  Based on current projections, we anticipate more than 23,000 visits in 2022. We currently have five full time PEM faculty. We are seeking motivated candidates to join our growing division. Applicants must be fellowship trained and board certified/eligible in pediatric emergency medicine.

The Department of Emergency Medicine has a well-established residency program that began over 25 years ago. The department is comprised of faculty who have fellowship training or advanced expertise in pediatric emergency medicine, ultrasound, clinical research, toxicology, sports medicine, simulation, emergency medical services, resuscitation, and critical care medicine. The department is uniquely dedicated to the care of pediatric patients, with our Chairman being an EM/PEM trained physician. We work closely with the Department of Pediatrics to provide specialized and collaborative care for patients in the Bernard and Millie Duker Children's Hospital at Albany Med. Our Department of Pediatrics offers support from pediatric and surgical subspecialties including neonatology, critical care, infectious disease, neurology, pulmonary, hematology/oncology, rheumatology, cardiology, urology, and general surgery. PEM faculty teach and mentor AMC medical students, emergency medicine and pediatric residents, and advanced practice providers.
