CareFlight Air & Mobile Services Medical Director/Emergency Medicine Physician

CareFlight Air & Mobile Services is a non-profit program operated by Premier Health, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton Ohio. The program, in operation since 1983, operates 4 helicopter and 5 Mobile intensive care units and is a CAMTS (Commission on the Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems) accredited program. The program provides critical transport within a 150-mile radius of Dayton Ohio, including patients of all ages. Additionally, the program employs over 150 staff members. Program is nationally recognized and provides transports directly from the scene, interfacility transports and includes transports such as ECMO, IABP, Impella, and High-risk OB.
Position requires an experienced emergency medicine physician, who meets all requirements of the Ohio Department of Public Safety for an EMS Medical director, and all CAMTS requirements.

The Medical Director will have the following responsibilities:

Oversee the clinical care provided by the air and ground medical teams
Oversee and participate in the clinical education of the team members
Develop and maintain medical treatment protocols the program
Actively participate in the selection of new team members
Provide initial and ongoing education for medical control physicians
Oversee/develop/participate in the quality improvement activities related to clinical care
Actively participate in outreach activities with EMS/referring hospitals utilizing transport service
Actively involved in the clinical care of emergency patients
Participate in safety activities within the program
Assist with budget development
Participates nationally with Association of Air Medical Services, and Air Medical Physician Association, and at the state level on the Ohio association of critical care transport.

Medical directorship is 22 hours/week dedicated to program.
