Pulmonary Critical Care Intensivist (F71240)

The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine at VCU Health is seeking a BC/BS physician at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with a primary focus of providing critical care as an attending physician with roles of an inhouse daytime intensivist and attending physician in one of several roles in the Medical Respiratory ICU at VCU Health. Responsibilities of the Intensivist role includes rapid response team backup, code supervision, critical care consultation, ventilator management, invasive procedures, administrative duties, reaching and supervision of students, advanced practice providers, housestaff and critical care fellows, and performing clinical research related to critical care. Percent effort devoted to critical care will be 100%, with consideration made for minor roles in clinical pulmonary medicine or a related field.

The successful candidate will be BC/BC in Critical Care after completing an ACGME-approved critical care fellowship in Pulmonary CC or Internal Medicine CC. VCUHS is a level 1 trauma center with a state-of-the-art Critical Care Hospital. The candidate should have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment and commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
