Job Summary:

The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge & skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The employee will assist in the delivery of health care and patient care management under the direction of the physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner. Provides a variety of patient and customer service related activities within the Physician Practice, particularly liaison with other physician's office and insurance companies. These activities include but are not limited to greeting patients and the public, answering and screening telephone calls, scheduling patient appointments, preparing the medical records, and serving as the liaison between the patient and medical support staff.

This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation. The employee will review schedules, help answer clinical calls, and prep patient charts.

BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward

Department Position Summary:

Responsible for direct and/or indirect patient care. Primary duties include but are not limited to escorting patients to exam rooms, taking vitals, preparation for evaluations and/or procedures. Responsible for ensuring medical supplies are inventoried weekly. Perform calibrations on all testing equipment. Responsible for performing patient testing and injections as directed by physician or NP. Work closely with other employees to ensure customer focus. Assist Office Manager with general office duties. All other duties as assigned. Reports to Office Manager.
