The Department of Critical Care Medicine in the Respiratory Institute at the Cleveland Clinic is recruiting for a senior and mid-career critical care attending physician with opportunity for a Department Vice-Chair role. The Department is one of the largest in the United States and is committed to outstanding patient care, research and education. We are system-wide department with over 100 full-time and part-time staff physicians, 45 critical care advanced practice providers, 5 ICU Clinical Associates and 36 fellows in two tracks: critical care track and pulmonary/critical care track. The department provides high quality critical care in 13 adult ICUs with over 200 ICU beds across 9 hospitals in Ohio including the 64 bed Medical Intensive Care Unit on Cleveland Clinic main campus.

As a national leader in healthcare, the Cleveland Clinic serves as an excellent opportunity for candidates with interest and strong prior leadership and program building experiences in areas of clinical operations, clinical and basic science research, clinical Informatics, quality improvement, and medical education. The position provides unique opportunities to work with a large team of outstanding critical care providers, to participate in our rapidly growing extramurally funded research programs and to foster the education of over 36 fellows each year. Key skills for the position include significant prior experience and expertise in program development or leadership in one or more areas of: 1) ICU administrative and clinical operations; 2) innovative leadership and management of research protocol design and development, and NIH-funded grants; 2) development, testing, adoption and implementation of health information technologies, data analytics, and clinical decision support in critical care settings; 3) supervision, support and mentorship of faculty and fellows in clinical, translational, or basic science research. Department Vice-Chair role opportunities are available for qualified candidates.
