WVUHS Medical Group and the Department of Emergency Medicine seeks a qualified applicant to serve as Associate Medical Director ("AMD"), Highlands Region for its emergency medicine practices. The Associate Medical Director will oversee several locations including but not limited to Potomac Valley Hospital, Grant Memorial Hospital and Garrett Regional Medical Center (Maryland). These will include critical access sites as well as large community emergency departments ranging from 13,000 to 30,000 patient visits per year and located in Keyser and Petersburg, West Virginia as well as Oakland, Maryland.

Duties: The AMD will be responsible for the oversight of emergency department operation in the highlands region of WV. They will be the primary point of contact for the local medical directors of practices spanning across the highlands region of WV. The AMD will be responsible for fiscal and operational issues of the region and will report directly to the Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine/Medical Director of Emergency Medicine, WVUHS.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Career emergency medicine physician with clinical and leadership skills. Board certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine or the American Board of Osteopathic Emergency Medicine. Demonstrated interest, knowledge and ability in the leadership, financial, managerial, and marketing aspects of emergency medicine. Meets and maintains State Licensure and credentialing requirements for all hospitals in their region. Demonstrates ability to speak effectively on administrative and clinical matters related to emergency medicine. Possess the ability to appropriately focuses on the audience, whether administrators, medical staff members, EMS providers, or the lay public.
